David Avisar (Kozlowski) is an artist ( painter)  who lives in Gush Etzion in Bat Ayin,
David is the son of Yaakov, one of the first pilots in the Israeli Air Force, who arrived to Israel in 1925 from Ukraine,with his family, and Sarah (formerly Goldstein) from  the United States, where they met (thank G-d) when he was on a course there with the US airforce in Alabama in 1953.
.Since his childhood days, David' reveals the world of painting as a source of tranquility, as a world that creates the possibility of finding another place, a place in which one may disconnect;
After his military service he fell in love with the Sinai desert, where he was  a field trip guide for Neot HaKikar Desert Tour Company and where he often painted the wonderful expansive desert landscapes, with their silent voice freedom and detachment adding to the character  of his work. The evacuation from Sinai  was very difficult and shook and unsettled him, and led him to study art, first in the Ramat Hasharon Midrash Art School, and then in  the Ein Hod Artists Village in the Carmel. There he connected to the Expressionist style, mainly through the influence of  the painter Marcel Janco. From then, he began a period of uninterrupted creativity and developed a style with fast sketching and bursting with rich colors— but at the same time balanced with  delicacy, naivety  and pleasantness.
The Lebanese War and the countless spells of reserve duty thereafter  impeded his work,However, the overwhelming impulse to create led David to returning to his beloved wilderness. He first served as a nature reserve inspector in the Eilat Mountains, and from there he went to Los Angeles. In a short time the gates opened.  The joy, the emotion the pleasantness and the sheer naturalism of his  style was well  received in the galleries. Then came a life changer.  A fascinating story of providence leads him for the first time in his life at the age of 33 to exposure to  the holy books and after a few days of reading, his soul awoke and connected  to the Creator of the world and from there to the path of becoming religious and returning to his beloved, holy land.
Since then 32 years have passed. These have been filled with many stories of providence and miracles, Torah study and a life of faith and family , raising children and spoiling grandchildren. Holy and spiritual subjects now occupy a central place in his work, which he presents at exhibitions and in his studio. .Museums, collectors and companies like Bank Hapoalim and Sonol acquire his works.
 His studio is open to visitors. Times can be arranged telephonically at 0527091224 or by sending an SMS.or whatsapp
